who we are

Peace Love & Paws Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit, foster-based animal rescue. We’re 100% volunteer-run and do what we do for one simple reason: we’re passionate about saving animals. Our focus is saving the forgotten, homeless and neglected animals of metro Detroit.

About us

We are a powerhouse of women fighting for the voiceless.

Our rescue is proud to be female-founded, led and operated. We are foster-based, with foster homes throughout metro Detroit. Our rescue steps up for “undesirable” animals many shy away from saving: those who need it most because they don’t have much of a chance of getting out of shelters (i.e. seniors, pit bulls, Heartworm positive and medical cases).

We're in it for the animals, never for profit.

Every penny raised is channeled directly into the well-being of the animals under our care. 100% of donations and/or any proceeds we receive go towards our animals and our mission.

Donation funded by the generosity of our community.

As a volunteer-run 501c3 animal rescue, we operate and rely solely on the generous donations and financial support of our community.

Mission, Vision and Values

Mission

To provide compassionate care to our community's homeless and neglected animals while finding their forever homes.

Vision

To help end homelessness for animals while providing education to our community and families.

Values

Treat all paws with peace, love, compassion, and respect.

our Origin story

In 2020, fate brought together three dedicated, animal-loving dog moms at a local shelter in Detroit through their shared commitment to volunteer efforts.

United by a common goal, we swiftly discovered our collective passion: to make a significant impact in assisting animals in need. Eager to extend our reach and support, we embarked on a journey of fundraising through merchandise sales, organized events, and community outreach to attain our 501c3 nonprofit status.

After we achieved the goal of 501c3 nonprofit status, our focus expanded beyond just financial aid. We actively assisted families in meeting their pets' emergency medical needs, and soon found ourselves answering pleas from families seeking help with surrenders and shelters desperately seeking assistance in managing their overflowing kennels.

It became increasingly clear that our organization's role in the community was indispensable and exceeded our initial expectations.
