Join our dedicated team of fosters and be a hero!
We continually need fosters to help us save homeless and neglected animals of Metro Detroit. Fostering is the backbone of our rescue efforts, as we are a foster based rescue. Without foster homes, we would not be able to continue to save dogs in need.
A foster home is a temporary home where the dog can feel safe and loved, while expanding their indoor-living skills.
Fostering can be anywhere from a 3 weeks to few months commitment. We ask that our fosters house the dogs for a minimum of 2 weeks before the dog is available for adoption. This time is crucial, as it helps us learn about the dog’s behavior, temperament, and individual needs. By doing this, we are better able to match our dogs with their forever families.
If you are interested in becoming a foster parent please fill out the Foster Application by clicking here.
One of our foster coordinators will contact you within a week to go over our application and address any questions you may have.
We will schedule an in-home visit to ensure your home is set up for your foster dog. During the pandemic, the in-home visit may be done virtually to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
Get matched! Once you and Peace Love and Paws Rescue are all in agreement for fostering, we will match you with your foster pet. We will bring the pet to your home, along with a crate, food, leash, collar, etc.
Adoption. All Peace Love and Paws Rescue fosters have the first right to adopt. This means that if at any time you decide you want to adopt your foster pet, you just have to inform the foster care coordinator of your decision, sign the adoption agreement, and pay the adoption fee.
If at any time the foster dog is not able to stay with your family until adopted, Peace Love and Paws Rescue will find an alternate foster home.
We sincerely thank you for your interest in fostering and helping our Peace Love and Paws Rescue dogs!
